ICE Blue Acoustic Series Presents Holiday
Jazz Concert
Five-time Grammy Nominee Ira Sullivan Headlines
ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys – Ira Sullivan and his Inter/Outer
Continental Quintet will bring their holiday jazz sounds to the
TIB Amphitheater on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m., for the first of
several ICE Blue Acoustic Series concerts this season.
Nominated five times for Grammy Awards, Sullivan is a world-class
multi-instrumentalist. He plays trumpet, flugelhorn, peckhorn,
saxophone (tenor, alto and soprano) flute and on occasion, percussion.
“A master of brass and reed instruments, Sullivan
his quintet have a well-earned reputation for stellar performances,
and his jazz renditions of classic holiday music are sure to please,” noted
ICE board member Stephanie Dunn, instructor at On Your Toes Dance
Studio in Tavernier. “ICE’s acoustic series lets concert
goers hear great musicians and great music, in a stunning setting,
up close and unfiltered.”
Also appearing is the jazz/world music duo of Peter Betan and
Marc Berner, bringing an eclectic blend of acoustic sounds to their
performance. Betan is an accomplished guitarist and singer-songwriter.
Renowned in his own right, Marc Berner plays flute, piccolo, saxophones,
small percussion and sings.
Kicking off the concert will be ICE President David Feder playing
the acoustic guitar. Feder, a noted and talented guitarist/songwriter,
has been entertaining audiences world wide for the past 20 years.
A long-time favorite of Keys’ residents and visitors, Feder
will feature his trademark Hillbilly Flamenco compositions.
“This first acoustic concert is a fantastic start to ICE’s
holiday offerings,” said Dunn. “Next, ICE presents
everybody’s holiday favorite ‘The Nutcracker’ by
a premier Russian ballet company on Dec. 22. And then for students
and parents, we’ve got the New York Children’s International
Film Festival starting the day after Christmas. This holiday season,
ICE has truly got something special for everyone.”
The holiday jazz acoustic concert tickets are $15 for adults and
$5 for ages 12 and under, and can be purchased at the door, cash
or check only. The TIB Amphitheater is located in Islamorada Founders
Park, MM 87.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
